Womxn coming together to share space, energy and wisdom

SSP partners from Spruce Root and Sitka Conservation Society met earlier this month in Sheet’ká (Sitka) for a three-day Womxn in Leadership retreat. The leadership retreat is part of the SSP healing series and a pilot program to expand healing and knowledge from the lens of the lived experience for people who are women, non-binary, femme-identifying, etc. The retreat created a safe space, to tap into participants’ innate wisdom, learn into leadership, and find new ways of existing in all aspects of our life.

Seacoast Trust partners chart a course for the future

Representatives from Sealaska, Spruce Root, Sustainable Southeast Partnership, The Nature Conservancy in Alaska, the Emerald Edge program, Alaska Venture Fund, and Central Council of Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska met earlier in January to discuss and plan the future of the Seacoast Trust.

Business Basics for Artists empowers entrepreneurs with tools to grow their business

Spruce Root's team led a Business Basics for Artists workshop for Tlingit and Haida citizens on January 25-26. Participants analyzed the purpose of their business, gained an understanding of the art industry and possible revenue streams, how to develop a business plan and more.
